US hit more than 80 targets in new strikes on Iran

What's new: Washington also revoked Iran's oil-sale license after three tankers were struck in the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. military carried out a fresh round of strikes on Iran, saying it hit more than 80 targets after attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz further strained a fragile ceasefire. U.S. Central Command said the operation targeted Iranian air defense systems, command-and-control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats in and near the waterway. Washington also revoked a license that had allowed Iran to sell oil after three tankers were hit by projectiles. Iran's top joint military command threatened a "crushing response" and accused Washington of aggression, while warning Tehran would not accept U.S. interference in the strait.
