Ukraine strikes 8 Wildberries warehouses, disrupting Russian sellers

What's new: Nine people were killed, and Wildberries said more than 88,000 sellers have begun receiving initial compensation.

Ukrainian drone strikes have hit eight Wildberries warehouses since July 18, killing nine people, injuring scores and burning through inventory used by thousands of Russian merchants. Kyiv says the logistics hubs were helping supply sanctioned components for drone production and navigation equipment used by Russia’s military. The attacks have also rattled small businesses that rely on Wildberries, Russia’s biggest online marketplace, for most of their sales. Some sellers told media they lost millions of rubles in stock and now risk missing loan and tax payments. Wildberries said it had started initial compensation to more than 88,000 sellers, while its finance units offered three-month loan deferrals for affected companies.
