Ukraine restores full Starlink speeds after days of drone limits
Why it matters: Kyiv said the earlier cap cut links for drones above 100 mph, weakening communications, logistics and some combat missions.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry said Saturday that high-speed service on SpaceX's Starlink and Starshield networks had been restored, reversing restrictions that officials said had disrupted drone operations and left forces more exposed to Russian attacks. The ministry said its monitoring systems now show stable connections even when equipment is moving faster than 400 km/h, after earlier limits had reduced performance. Since Oct. 14, Ukrainian officials had accused SpaceX of throttling service on Starshield, the military version of the satellite network, causing drones traveling above 100 mph to lose connection. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday the slowdown was still in place, but the ministry now says speeds are back.
