Ukraine drone operations falter as Starlink limits hit fast-moving units
Why it matters: Europe lacks a near-term replacement for Starlink or the US missile-warning data Kyiv says it also missed.
Ukraine reported disruptions to SpaceX satellite services used by its military, saying Starshield terminals lost effectiveness when mounted on fast-moving platforms, undermining some drone strike and air-defense missions. President Volodymyr Zelensky also said Kyiv got no partner warning for a second straight night of Russian ballistic missile attacks. Analysts quoted by BBC said Starlink is central to Ukraine’s battlefield network, linking drones, artillery and command posts in real time. European allies back Kyiv politically, but experts told Reuters there is no quick substitute for either Starlink connectivity or the US infrared satellite system used for missile-launch alerts.
