Ukraine backs energy ceasefire as Zelenskyy warns Russia must comply
What's new: Zelenskyy said drone attacks over Kyiv and other cities continued Monday and warned Ukraine would respond if Moscow refuses the deal.
Ukraine is prepared to accept a U.S.-brokered ceasefire covering energy infrastructure, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday the arrangement will hold only if Russia also abides by it. In a livestreamed address, Zelenskyy said Kyiv was ready to provide guarantees tied to the deal described by President Donald Trump a day earlier. He also accused Moscow of already undermining the truce, saying Russian Shahed drones kept entering the skies over Kyiv and other cities on Monday morning. Zelenskyy pointed to a Sunday strike on a power plant in Kharkiv and said Ukraine would answer if Russia does not observe the ceasefire.
