President Donald Trump took an honorary lap in the presidential limo before Sunday’s Freedom 250 Grand Prix, the inaugural IndyCar street race through downtown Washington. Trump and first lady Melania Trump then greeted drivers and team members before the race began on the 1.7-mile course near the Capitol and National Mall. Fox News reported Trump was expected to wave the green flag. The event is part of celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Álex Palou started from pole position and entered the race with six wins this season, leading the IndyCar standings ahead of Kyle Kirkwood and David Malukas.
