President Donald Trump reopened a fight over a $1.8 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund" on Saturday, threatening to keep Todd Blanche as acting attorney general and press ahead with the fund if Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis do not back Blanche's nomination. The move renewed uncertainty around a Senate confirmation vote planned for next week after Trump had called the fund "dead" a day earlier. Cornyn and Tillis have objected to a settlement tied to Trump's lawsuit against the IRS, including language they say could shield Trump, his family and related companies from tax audits. Cornyn wants written assurances that the fund is scrapped and that any audit immunity is narrowly limited. Chuck Grassley rescheduled the committee vote for Tuesday.
