Trump picks Katie Zacharia as next White House press secretary
What's next: Zacharia is set to start Monday and hold an introductory briefing Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the White House.
President Donald Trump has chosen Katie Zacharia, a lawyer, conservative commentator and Trump Media communications adviser, to become the next White House press secretary. Trump said in a Truth Social post that Zacharia will begin the job Monday and hold an introductory news conference Tuesday morning from the White House briefing room. She replaces Karoline Leavitt, who left in late August and is expected to join Fox News next month. Zacharia has worked since June as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group and previously spent a brief stint as a spokeswoman at the Department of Homeland Security.
