Trump Media to sell real-time Truth Social feed to Wall Street
What's new: The paid API starts Aug. 1, and the company said some institutional customers have already signed up.
Trump Media & Technology Group is rolling out a paid service that gives customers licensed, real-time access to posts on Truth Social, pitching it in part to traders seeking market-moving information. The company said the API will launch Aug. 1. Truth Social carries posts from President Donald Trump, whose family is the largest shareholder in Trump Media and whose account is the platform's biggest, with 12.9 million followers Thursday, CNBC reported. Ethics lawyer Virginia Canter of Democracy Defenders Fund called the arrangement a conflict of interest because official presidential communications can appear first on a platform tied to the president's financial interests. Trump Media said some institutional customers already have signed up.
