Trump backs Darline Graham Nordone in Aug. 11 Senate primary

President Donald Trump urged interim South Carolina Sen. Darline Graham Nordone to enter the Aug. 11 special Republican primary for the Senate seat she was appointed to fill after the death of her brother, Lindsey Graham. In a Truth Social post Friday, Trump promised his "Complete and Total Endorsement" if she runs. Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Graham Nordone earlier this week to serve until the new Congress convenes in January. Fox News reported that she has been considering a campaign for the full term. Her appointment made her the first female senator from South Carolina and the first sister ever appointed to the U.S. Senate.
