Trump backs Darline Graham for full Senate term in South Carolina

President Donald Trump endorsed Darline Graham on Friday for a full Senate term in South Carolina, a move that could reshape the race to succeed her brother, the late Lindsey Graham. Trump wrote on social media that she has his “Complete and Total Endorsement” if she decides to run, and said he discussed a possible campaign with her at the White House. Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham earlier this week to serve out the rest of Lindsey Graham’s term after his death at 71 from what a preliminary medical examiner’s report described as an aortic tear. Other Republicans considering bids include Reps. Russell Fry, Nancy Mace and Ralph Norman, along with Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette.
