Trump asks Supreme Court to void Carroll's $83.3 million verdict

President Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to set aside the $83.3 million defamation verdict a jury awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll, according to Axios. The judgment stems from Trump's 2019 denial, made while he was in the White House, of Carroll's accusation that he raped her in the mid-1990s in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan. Court records filed earlier this month show Carroll has already collected nearly $5.63 million from Trump. Across two civil cases, Carroll has won $88.3 million. In the other case, a jury awarded her $5 million over Trump's 2022 denial, though jurors did not find that he raped her.
