Loaded truck overturns at Tomang Flyover, snarling S Parman

A trailer truck carrying construction steel overturned at the Tomang Flyover in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, early Wednesday at around 04.00-04.30 WIB, triggering a long traffic jam through midday on Jalan S Parman and toll lanes near the site. The truck's load spilled from the overpass onto the arterial road below, damaging a barrier and blocking access toward Grogol. Police said there were no casualties. Officers said the truck was traveling from the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road toward Tanjung Priok and overturned while maneuvering on the incline; another theory was that a load-securing strap snapped. The vehicle was first lifted with a Jasa Marga crane, but during cargo removal at around 10.55 WIB, several pieces of steel came loose again and fell onto Jalan S Parman, briefly stopping traffic from Slipi to Grogol.
