Trabzonspor begin talks to sign Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian forward is due in Istanbul on Wednesday before continuing to Trabzon, with a two-year deal reportedly close.
Trabzonspor have opened talks to sign Mohamed Salah on a free transfer after the Egyptian forward left Liverpool at the end of last season. The Turkish club said Salah is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday, then continue to Trabzon that night. Citing reports quoted by Republika, the 34-year-old is said to be nearing a two-year contract. If completed, the move would be a major step for Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and qualified for the UEFA Europa League. During nine years at Liverpool, Salah scored 257 goals and added 120 assists in 442 appearances, helping the club win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and two League Cups.
