Tito opens cross-ministry incentives for top local governments
Kementerian PKP has set aside home-renovation quotas, while other categories will receive fiscal incentives transferred to regional accounts.
Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian launched a cross-ministry and agency appreciation scheme for local governments with strong performance at the Apresiasi Pemerintah Daerah Berprestasi 2026 Batch II Regional Sumatera in Batam, Kepulauan Riau, on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026. The event covers four categories: health services, the Program 3 Juta Rumah, waste management and green environment, and access to education. Assessment will involve ministries according to their respective fields. Tito said the model is intended as an incentive for local governments to improve public services while highlighting high-achieving regional leaders amid scrutiny over numerous legal cases. Kementerian Perumahan dan Kawasan Permukiman has already provided home-renovation quotas for the winner in the housing category, while other categories will receive fiscal incentives deposited into regional financial accounts.
