Indonesia U-16 women begin camp July 24, set up 2 squads in Kudus
Indonesia will field two 23-player teams at the Srikandi Merdeka Cup from Aug. 14-23, with eight sides from seven countries entered.
Indonesia's U-16 women's national team will begin a training camp on July 24, 2026, at Supersoccer Arena in Kudus, Central Java, to prepare for the 2026 Srikandi Merdeka Cup. Coach Timo Scheunemann said the players called up came from the coaching staff's scouting during the Hydroplus Soccer League All-Stars 2025/2026 and from outside the event. All the players will train together first before being selected into two squads, each with 23 players. In addition to Timo, Takumi Taniguchi is scheduled to handle one of the teams. During the camp, the coaching staff is planning internal scrimmages between the squads and, if needed, matches against boys' teams. The Aug. 14-23 tournament will feature eight teams from seven countries, including Arab Saudi, Filipina, Malaysia, Singapura, Thailand, Yordania, and host Indonesia.
