Telkom assures no layoffs in restructuring, workers stay in group

Some employees will move to Telkom Enterprise, while worker rights at PINS remain backed by Telkom and Danantara.

Telkom Group, Danantara and Serikat Karyawan Telkom Indonesia reached an agreement that the restructuring at the company will not lead to layoffs. At a meeting at the DPR RI complex in Jakarta on Thursday (23/7), the parties also agreed that all workers will remain Telkom Group employees with the same incentives and benefits, even if their assignments change. Some employees will be placed in the new Telkom Enterprise unit, with a guarantee of no layoffs even if the unit does not develop as planned. Worker rights at inactive subsidiaries, including PT PINS Indonesia, will also remain protected through guarantees of continued salary support from Telkom and Danantara. Sekar Telkom said certainty over BUMN worker status was the main demand in the process.
