Second Japanese tanker arrives after crossing Hormuz

ENEOS Endeavor carried 2.15 million barrels of oil, while 38 Japan-bound ships remain in the Persian Gulf.

The ENEOS Endeavor tanker arrived at the Negishi refinery in Yokohama on Saturday after crossing the Strait of Hormuz amid the Middle East crisis. It was the second Japanese tanker to reach the country through that route, after the Idemitsu Maru arrived on May 25. Citing Nikkei, which was quoted by ANTARA, the ENEOS Endeavor carried 2.15 million barrels of oil from Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The ship first stopped at an ENEOS terminal at the port of Kiire to unload 900,000 barrels, then continued to Yokohama and discharged the remaining 1.25 million barrels. The cargo was said to be enough to keep operations at the Negishi refinery running for eight days. In the Persian Gulf, 38 Japan-bound ships remain, including seven oil tankers.
