Sword attack at Swedish high school seriously injures 2 teens

What's new: A third person was also hurt, police arrested one man and later said there was no ongoing danger to the public.

A sword attack at Brinell School in Fagersta, Sweden, seriously injured two teenagers and wounded a third person on Friday, authorities said. Police were called just after 2 p.m. local time and arrested one man at the scene. Swedish media reported the suspect was shot in the leg by police, though authorities had not publicly detailed that account. Eight nearby schools were briefly locked down, and Vastmanland declared a heightened alert before police said the threat had passed. Fagersta municipality set up a crisis center near the school. The motive was not immediately known. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called it a serious incident just after the summer break.
