Subsidized biosolar consumption rises 15.1% in August

Average distribution reached 58,271 KL per day, driven by a wider gap with unsubsidized diesel and a surge in logistics activity.

Subsidized biosolar consumption in August 2026 rose 15.1 percent compared with the average before unsubsidized diesel prices increased on 18 April. BPH Migas head Wahyudi Anas said average biosolar distribution now reaches 58,271 kiloliters per day, up from 50,624 KL per day previously. The increase came gradually: 0.24 percent on 18 April-4 May, then 4.07 percent in May, 11.65 percent on 1-10 June, 12.25 percent on 10 June-1 July, and 14.5 percent on 1 July-1 August. BPH Migas said the surge was driven by the price gap with unsubsidized diesel such as Dex series, higher export-import logistics activity, and demand from productive sectors. In a RDP with Komisi XII DPR RI in Badung, Bali, Wahyudi also outlined year-to-date growth of 6.39 percent in trade, 10.6 percent in food and beverage accommodation, and 3.8 percent in agriculture.
