Stella urges campuses to prepare students for green jobs

Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie urged students and universities to prepare for the expansion of green jobs in Indonesia. In Jakarta on Sunday, she said environmentally friendly work requires strong cognitive skills, quick adaptation, and both formal education and technical expertise. For that reason, campuses are being encouraged to build a research mindset so students can frame questions and answer them systematically with data and logic. Stella also urged universities to open collaboration with industry through courses, teaching methods, and workshops while students are still in college. She cited geothermal energy and natural hydrogen as fields that need to be introduced more widely. Deputy Manpower Minister Afriansyah Noor added that green jobs not only create new work, but also change the content of existing jobs.
