Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” brought in an estimated $355 million in its opening weekend in the United States and Canada, putting it just $2 million behind the domestic debut record set by 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” The film took in $169.3 million on Friday, including presales, $101.5 million on Saturday and a projected $84 million on Sunday, with final figures due Monday. Overseas, it collected an estimated $572 million, including $121 million in China, for a $927 million global launch. Data from EntTelligence showed about 24.1 million moviegoers bought tickets in the U.S. and Canada, with roughly 21% choosing premium large-format screens.
