Spain rout Saudi Arabia 4-0 to lead Group H briefly

Spain earned its first victory at the 2026 World Cup after beating Saudi Arabia 4-0 in the second match of Group H at Atlanta Stadium in the United States on Sunday (21/6). The result lifted La Roja to the temporary top of the standings with four points, ahead of Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and Tanjung Verde, who each have one point. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a close-range finish from a Mikel Oyarzabal cross. Oyarzabal added two more goals in the 21st and 24th minutes before Hassan Al-Tombakti scored an own goal in the 49th. Luis de la Fuente's side remained dominant after the break, while goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais prevented a heavier defeat with several saves on chances from Pedro Porro and Ferran Torres.
