Sony Sonjaya seeks witness-protection deal after Kejagung rejection

LPSK is reviewing the request as Kejagung maintains Sony was the main actor in alleged SPPG point trading and has not admitted it.

Former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sony Sonjaya, has applied for justice collaborator status to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency after the Attorney General's Office rejected his request in the alleged corruption case involving governance of the 2025-2026 Free Nutritious Meals program. His lawyer, Krisna Murti, said the application was filed because Sony and his family need security assurances after he said he was ready to disclose dozens of names allegedly linked to the case. LPSK chairman Achmadi said the agency is examining the request and will coordinate with relevant parties. Earlier, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, director of investigations at the special crimes unit of the Attorney General's Office, said the JC request was rejected because investigators considered Sony the main actor in the buying and selling of SPPG points and said he had not admitted his conduct during questioning.
