Singapore blocks 14 anti-India posts on YouTube, Facebook, X

Police used OCHA to cut access in Singapore, while initial tracing points to platforms based in China.

The Singapore government ordered YouTube, Facebook and X to block access to 14 posts targeting the Indian community and seen as undermining the city-state's multiracial model. Singapore's Home Affairs Ministry said police issued disabling directions under the Online Criminal Harms Act, requiring the platforms to shut off access for users in Singapore. Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong said an initial investigation showed the material likely originated on platforms based in China before spreading to other sites and platforms. Authorities said the videos promoted racial division, nativism and xenophobia. So far, the government has found no evidence the spread of the content was part of a coordinated campaign by any state.
