Singaporean motorcyclist, 56, killed in 3-bike crash on Johor expressway

A 56-year-old Singaporean motorcyclist was killed after a multi-vehicle crash on Malaysia’s North-South Expressway in Johor, police said. The collision happened around 2:05 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the 44.6-kilometer mark of the southbound carriageway near Kulai and involved a Toyota MPV and three Suzuki motorcycles. Kulai police said preliminary findings indicate the rider lost control before hitting the rear of the MPV as traffic ahead slowed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two Malaysian motorcyclists, ages 39 and 57, were injured and taken to Kulai Hospital, while the 32-year-old Singaporean woman driving the MPV was unhurt. Police are investigating under Section 41(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987.
