Singapore tutor admitted abusing boy, 6, for 18 hours

A 31-year-old Singaporean who cared for and taught primary school pupils at his aunt’s student accommodation facility pleaded guilty on July 9 to abusing three boys, including a 6-year-old who was beaten, starved and forced to drink his own urine. Court documents said the youngest boy was made to hold a push-up position from the afternoon of March 9, 2023, into the next morning, then was abused through the day, for about 18 hours in all. He was later hospitalized for 46 days with severe injuries to his ribs, lungs and kidneys. The man also admitted child abuse, grievous hurt and giving false information to the Ministry of Manpower. He cannot be named under a gag order protecting the children.
