Singapore to relocate Ang Mo Kio Library, shut Queenstown until 2028

What's next: Ang Mo Kio reopens at AMK Hub on Nov. 20, while Queenstown's conserved facade will be kept during the overhaul.

Singapore's National Library Board will relocate Ang Mo Kio Library and temporarily close Queenstown Library for a major revamp in the second half of 2026. Ang Mo Kio's last day at 4300 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 is July 31, with the new branch set to reopen at AMK Hub on Nov. 20. During the move, patrons can use a self-service Browse-n-Borrow kiosk and Sit-n-Read Node at AMK Hub or visit nearby libraries in Bishan, Yishun and Toa Payoh. Queenstown Library, Singapore's oldest public library, will close after Aug. 30 and reopen in late 2028. The building's conserved facade will be preserved as part of the redesign.
