Singapore teen, 16, faces charges after roadblock crash injured 2 officers

A 16-year-old boy is due in court Wednesday in Singapore after police said he rode an unregistered vehicle at high speed through a roadblock in Commonwealth Avenue West on March 21, injuring a traffic police officer and a Land Transport Authority officer. The LTA officer, 44, suffered a brain injury, a knee fracture, a muscle tear and a sprained ligament. The traffic police officer, 28, suffered a head haematoma, abrasions and hip pain. The teenager faces charges including reckless driving causing grievous hurt, evading a police roadblock, underage driving, using a vehicle without insurance and using an unregistered vehicle. In a separate case at the same roadblock, a 15-year-old boy will also be charged after allegedly fleeing officers on an unregistered personal mobility device.
