Singapore teacher charged over 2023 primary school voyeurism case

What's next: He is set to plead guilty on Nov. 30, and convictions for voyeurism can bring up to two years in jail.

A 45-year-old former head of department at a Singapore primary school was charged Monday with voyeurism over allegations that he recorded a video of a female victim’s groin area at the school in 2023. A court gag order bars publication of details that could identify the alleged victim, including the school’s name, and news outlets are not naming the accused for that reason. The man indicated he plans to plead guilty, with a court date set for Nov. 30. The Ministry of Education said he has been suspended since June 2026 and is no longer teaching in any school. Under Singapore law, voyeurism carries a penalty of up to two years in jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of those punishments.
