Singapore patient got 30 months for trying to seize loaded gun
What's new: The 42-year-old told officers he wanted to shoot himself after nurses refused his request for a nail clipper.
A Singapore court sentenced hospital patient Goh Chuan Chong, 42, to 30 months in jail on June 17 after he tried to take an auxiliary police officer’s revolver at Changi General Hospital. Goh, who was warded there on Aug. 3, 2024, became agitated after nurses twice refused his request for a nail clipper, court records showed. Two auxiliary officers responded to the ward. As one officer approached Goh, who was sitting on his bed, Goh suddenly reached for the holstered revolver, which contained five live rounds. He failed to remove it because the holster was buttoned, and the officer knocked his hand away. Goh later said he wanted to kill himself.
