Singapore Parliament to rule on Sylvia Lim, Faisal Manap conduct
What’s next: Leader of the House Indranee Rajah is set to give a determination tied to findings from the Raeesah Khan case.
Singapore’s Parliament is set to hear a ministerial statement on July 7 on the conduct of Workers’ Party leaders Sylvia Lim and Faisal Manap, as the government moves to determine the consequences of findings linked to Raeesah Khan’s 2021 lies to Parliament. The order paper says Leader of the House Indranee Rajah will present a determination based on the Committee of Privileges findings. The move follows a January motion arguing that a High Court judgment upholding Pritam Singh’s convictions has implications for Lim and Faisal separately. Lim, an Aljunied GRC MP and the party’s chairwoman, has disputed that she and Faisal were fairly implicated. Faisal is no longer an MP but remains on the party’s central executive committee.
