Singapore man gets 33 weeks for warning Geylang sex workers

A Singapore court jailed 49-year-old Magandran Nadarajan for 33 weeks after he worked as a police lookout for sex workers in Geylang, helping them avoid enforcement patrols. The court sentenced him Tuesday, with 19 weeks tied to breaching a remission order from an earlier prison term. Prosecutors said Magandran, a repeat offender in sex-work-related cases, started the job on Dec. 27, 2025, the same day he was released from prison. He was paid S$60 to S$70 a day to cycle around Lorong 22 from about 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and call Subash Rao Muniandy when officers appeared. Police arrested both men on Feb. 10, 2026, after receiving intelligence about the scheme. Subash's case is still pending.
