Singapore man admits role in 58,000-item vape syndicate

A 34-year-old Singaporean became the first member of a local vape syndicate to plead guilty after authorities seized nearly 58,000 vaporisers and related components from two storage sites. Roy Tan Jun Jie admitted on Aug. 6 to being a member of an organized criminal group and to possessing 31 vaporisers for sale. Prosecutors said the group ran from mid-2022 to Oct. 16, 2025, using a terrace house in Lentor and a condominium unit in Canberra, Sembawang, as warehouses. The operation had three tiers, with local leaders taking instructions from a person known as “Nobody,” purportedly based in Malaysia. Tan worked as an area distributor, handling 15 to 30 deliveries a day and earning about S$45,000 in total.
