Singapore intercepts 5 replica guns, BB pellets in cargo container
What's new: A 19-year-old man is helping police investigate a possible offense under Singapore's weapons control law.
Singapore authorities stopped an attempt to bring controlled weapons and ammunition into the country after officers flagged an inbound cargo container at Pasir Panjang Scanning Station on Oct. 1. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said enhanced checks uncovered five replica guns, six packets and a bottle of BB pellets, and 40 packets of 72 caps. The container had been referred for inspection based on information from ICA's Integrated Targeting Centre, and an image analyst then spotted anomalies in the scan. The case was passed to the Singapore Police Force, and a 19-year-old man is assisting with investigations under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021.
