Singapore, India sign 3 cooperation pacts on telecom, food safety

What's new: The deals cover spectrum management, telecom consumer safeguards, product recalls and import procedures.

Singapore and India exchanged two memorandums of understanding and a letter of intent at their fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable on Aug. 20, deepening cooperation in telecommunications, broadcasting, food safety and heritage exchanges. One pact links Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on spectrum management, consumer protection and coordination at international regulators. Another connects the Singapore Food Agency with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on labeling, recalls, emergency notifications and import procedures to support agri-food trade.
