Singapore forms new skills agency on July 1 after board merger

Singapore will launch the Skills and Workforce Development Agency on July 1, combining SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore into a single statutory board focused on jobs and training. The Ministry of Manpower said the merger is meant to create a more integrated system for skills development and workforce transformation as the economy faces rapid structural shifts. Former DBS executive and current SIA Engineering deputy chairman Lim Sim Seng will chair the inaugural board, which will serve until June 30, 2028. The 12-member board includes SWDA chief executive Dilys Boey, NTUC deputy secretary-general Cham Hui Fong, Love, Bonito co-founder Rachel Lim and digital economy official Zhang Weijie.
