Singapore ends most haze measures Nov. 7 as air quality improves
What's next: The haze subsidy scheme ends Nov. 12 after more than 160,000 clinic and polyclinic visits under the program.
Singapore will wind down most of its haze response on Nov. 7, ending N95 mask distribution at 6 p.m., closing haze shelters and stopping daily 24-hour PSI forecasts as air quality improves. The National Environment Agency also said the 28-agency Haze Task Force will stand down, while the Ministry of Manpower will lift extra haze precautions for outdoor work the same day. The Ministry of Health will deactivate the Public Health Preparedness Clinic Scheme and the Haze Subsidy Scheme on Nov. 12. Officials linked the improvement to inter-monsoon conditions, increased rainfall and fewer regional hotspots. Close to 30% of eligible Singaporeans had collected masks by Oct. 29, and the subsidy program logged more than 100,000 GP visits and over 60,000 polyclinic visits by Oct. 31.
