Singapore deploys 5 new ambulances built to carry 2 patients

Singapore has started deploying a new ambulance model that can be reconfigured to carry two patients, giving emergency crews extra capacity during multi-casualty incidents. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said five seventh-generation Gen 7E ambulances have been in service nationwide since July 9 as part of its 108-vehicle operational fleet.
Developed with the Home Team Science and Technology Agency and based on feedback from paramedics and emergency medical technicians, the redesigned cabin aims to speed treatment and transport. The vehicle includes an upgraded stretcher loading system to reduce strain on crews, side-facing seats with high-mobility seatbelts so paramedics can treat patients while restrained, and air suspension in the cabin and stretcher platform to cut vibration for critical patients. SCDF said more units will gradually replace the current sixth-generation fleet over the coming years.
