Singapore completes S$120 million Tengah reservoir for 42,000 homes
What's new: The two tanks hold about 22 Olympic-sized pools of treated water and are set to start operating this year.
Singapore has completed the S$120 million Tengah Service Reservoir, a new part of the national water network built to supply about 42,000 households and an upcoming industrial precinct. The reservoir, made up of two five-storey tanks at the highest point in Tengah, was finished in November 2025 and is due to begin operations this year. PUB said the facility can store treated drinking water equal to about 22 Olympic-sized pools. Its elevation allows water to flow by gravity to nearby developments, helping maintain pressure without extra pumping. PUB also said the project uses a centralized operating system for real-time monitoring and was the first service reservoir in Singapore built with slipform construction to reduce leakage risk.
