Singapore COE prices rise again as Cat A hits S$132,004
What's next: A public consultation on merging car COE categories closes Nov. 2, with rebates and surcharges tied to vehicle value under review.
Singapore's latest COE bidding exercise ended mixed, with premiums for cars climbing again after authorities opened a review of the system. Category A, for smaller and less powerful cars and EVs, rose 1.54% to S$132,004, the second-highest level on record. Category B, for larger and more powerful cars and EVs, gained 1.38% to S$131,901. Commercial vehicle COEs edged up to S$92,200, while motorcycle premiums fell to S$10,778 and open-category COEs slipped to S$135,790. The Land Transport Authority said prices remain elevated and warned that the Oct. 24-25 Car Expo could lift demand further. LTA is collecting feedback until Nov. 2 on plans to merge Categories A and B and apply rebates or surcharges based on a car's open market value.
