Singapore Category A car quota price falls 1.7% to S$123,890

What's new: prices were mixed in the first August tender, with open-category COEs rising to S$131,000 and commercial vehicle permits falling 2.5%.

Singapore’s latest Certificate of Entitlement tender closed with mixed results, led by a 1.7% drop in the Category A premium for smaller cars and some EVs to S$123,890. Category B, used for larger and more powerful cars, was nearly unchanged at S$129,910, up just S$20 from the previous exercise. Open-category COEs rose 0.8% to S$131,000, commercial vehicle permits fell 2.5% to S$91,545, and motorcycle premiums climbed 3% to S$10,503. The Aug. 5 exercise drew 4,337 bids for 3,242 available COEs. It was the first tender in the August-to-October quota period, when total supply will edge up 0.2% to 19,085 permits, with Category B quota rising 6.2% and Category A quota falling 4%.
