Singapore bars Massive Attack after Palestine flag at concert

What's new: The band said police detained and separately questioned members, searched some hotel rooms and briefly took passports.

Singapore barred Massive Attack from returning after two members held up a Palestinian flag and joined chants of "Free Palestine" during the British group's July 29 show at The Star Theatre. Police said Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall received stern warnings over possible breaches of laws restricting foreign flags and political expression at public events. The Infocomm Media Development Authority said it would not approve future concert applications from the band. In an Instagram post, Massive Attack said the episode was a "surreal experience" and that touring members were detained, separated for questioning, and in some cases had hotel rooms searched and passports temporarily confiscated.
