Sepang to host Bahrain GP on October 4 as F1 returns to Malaysia
The revised race restores the F1 calendar to 23 rounds after the Bahrain GP in April was canceled over the Iran war.
Formula 1 will return to race at Sepang Circuit in Malaysia on October 4, with the venue set to host the rescheduled Bahrain GP. The event will carry the official name Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and will be the first F1 race at Sepang since 2017. The calendar change was agreed by Formula One, the FIA, and the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain after the Bahrain GP in Sakhir in April was canceled because of the Iran war and security concerns in the Middle East. The Sepang race is scheduled between the Azerbaijan GP on September 26 and the Singapore GP on October 11. According to F1, the move restores the 2026 season to 23 races, while the event still awaits final approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
