Second-floor glass at BGN office in Kebon Sirih shatters
Police ruled out gunfire, while the building manager said similar breakages can happen 1-2 times a year during the dry season.
Glass on the second floor of the Badan Gizi Nasional office on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta, shattered on Thursday (9/7) afternoon. Police dismissed speculation that the incident was caused by gunfire or an attack on the building. Central Jakarta Police Chief Reynold EP Hutagalung said the glass was believed to have broken because of a temperature difference: hot air outside and air conditioning inside caused the glass to expand. Inafis officers inspected the scene, while the area where the shards fell near the parking area was cordoned off. According to the building manager, Martin, similar incidents can occur one to two times a year during the hot or dry season.
