Sampang rape case of 15-year-old: 12 arrested, 15 sought
KemenPPPA is overseeing legal, psychological and recovery support for the victim while pressing for the remaining suspects to be arrested.
Polres Sampang is investigating allegations of rape and sexual abuse against a 15-year-old girl allegedly carried out by 27 people in Sampang Regency, East Java. So far, 12 suspects have been arrested and 15 others remain at large. Police said the series of incidents took place from February-May 2026 at three locations: Panggung Village, Astapah Village and Madupat Village. In one incident, the victim was allegedly taken from Taman Wiyata Bahari into a thicket and forced into sexual intercourse; in another, the victim was said to have been raped in turn by several perpetrators. KemenPPPA said it is handling the case with the East Java provincial government, the Sampang regency government, UPTD PPA and law enforcement to ensure the victim receives protection, psychological services, legal assistance and recovery.
