Ryan Gosling to play Ghost Rider in Marvel film due in 2028

The project will be directed by Shawn Levy and marks the third Ghost Rider film after two Nicolas Cage versions.

Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider in a new Marvel Studios film scheduled for release in 2028. The announcement came onstage at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige introduced the project and Gosling appeared in person. The standalone film will be directed by Shawn Levy, who previously made “Deadpool & Wolverine” and is now also working with Gosling on “Star Wars: Starfighter”. Ghost Rider is the alter ego of stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, an antihero bound to the Spirit of Vengeance. It will be the third Ghost Rider film after two Sony productions in 2007 and 2011 starring Nicolas Cage.
