Russia offers astronaut training and flights for Indonesia
Roscosmos is ready to cooperate if Jakarta decides to send an astronaut into space, amid broader space talks.
Russia has offered to help train and fly Indonesian astronauts into space. Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Tolchenov said the issue of training Indonesian cosmonauts has already been discussed by relevant agencies in Moscow and Jakarta. If Indonesia is interested, Russia's space agency Roscosmos is ready to build cooperation for the mission. Tolchenov said Russia has previously flown cosmonauts from Mongolia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The offer comes amid discussions on space cooperation between Indonesia and Russia, although Indonesia has not made any official decision on sending an astronaut.
