Russell Brand faces 2 more rape complaints after UK conviction

What's new: London police are investigating allegations from two additional women, and officers expect more accusers may come forward.

Russell Brand is under investigation over two additional rape complaints after a London jury found him guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The 51-year-old comedian and actor was convicted at Southwark Crown Court after a three-week trial tied to allegations spanning 1999 to 2009 and involving six women. Jurors cleared him on two rape counts and one count of attempted indecent assault. Brand was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced Monday. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley said detectives are examining two new cases, while Det Supt Andy Furphy said the verdict could encourage other women to report allegations.
