Roy Suryo and dr Tifa detained by Polda Metro Jaya this morning
The pair were detained after the case file in the Joko Widodo fake diploma allegation was declared complete by Kejati DKI Jakarta.
Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as dr Tifa, were detained by investigators from Polda Metro Jaya on Friday morning, June 19, 2026, in the case over allegations that President Joko Widodo’s diploma was fake. Roy’s legal team said he was detained around 07.00 WIB, while dr Tifa’s defense team said their client was detained at her apartment around 06.47 WIB. According to the lawyers, both had been cooperative in responding to investigators’ summonses and reporting as required. The dr Tifa team also said their client continued taking her S3 exam at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, online from one of the rooms at Polda Metro Jaya. As of publication, police had not issued an official statement on the detention. Earlier, Polda Metro Jaya said the case file for both had been declared complete, or P21, by Kejaksaan Tinggi DKI Jakarta.
